AANS/ASTRO Stereotactic Radiosurgery Registry

Launched in 2015, the Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) patient registry is aimed at defining national patterns of care in radiosurgery, with an eye to improving health care outcomes, supporting informed decision making and potentially lowering the cost of care. The registry captures treatment information for thousands of patients affected by brain metastases, benign brain tumors and arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). Funding is provided by Brainlab.

The NPA manages the registry and administers grants to participating sites, while Brainlab oversees the development of the SRS registry platform with a focus on increased efficiency of data collection, organization and enhanced analytics. Brainlab also provides training and technical support. The registry’s steering committee is helmed by NPA board member Jason Sheehan, MD, PhD. There are 24 active sites and more than 3,000 enrolled patients.
